“Your Reward” for the Waiting
I am currently waiting on a few promises from God to come to pass, so this message is for me too. I get it, it’s not as though the wait is simply us sitting around bored while we wait for the heavens to open. No, there are generational cycles, financial hardships, familial separations, sicknesses happening, spiritual warfare, and so much more during the wait! There can be true suffering during these waiting seasons. Heart wrenching nights where we consider, “When will this end?”, “When will God come through?”. Moments where we want to even set down our faith because truly, at times, it’s hard serving Christ.
Consider what Christ went through in order to obtain the promise of our salvation. It’s a narrow road, and the enemy will do whatever he can to stop us from walking on it. There is maturity in understanding God has not promised the road will be easy, or without trouble. Did you know that the Bible says that suffering produces perseverance, and perseverance, character; and character, hope? And hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us?
God is set on changing us, transforming, and transfiguring us into the image of Yeshua. He is intent on revealing His love to us during these seasons. When I begin to get weary in my well doing, and in my waiting, my prayer is that I always remind myself of God’s faithfulness to honor His word. He’s the One who spoke the promises, so He is also the One who will accomplish them. He will not, and cannot, make Himself out to be a liar. All of this waiting has a purpose; God won’t waste anything we have endured through.
I thank our Abba that the Bible says, “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (Hebrews 6:10). I find this passage comforting because although God doesn’t need anything from us, this shows that He does care about the works we do for Him. The things, people, and activities we let go of for the sake of following Christ. The difficulties we face during the waiting. The people we forgive & serve in love (not in humiliation or without boundaries). The tears we cry; the nights/months/years we’ve mourned. ALL OF IT - God takes into account. As a loving Father, He has spoken about the good things in store for us.
“Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, let them show these to them. Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.’ ”
Isaiah 44:6-8
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I pray God reveals the purpose of your waiting season to you. I pray we grow closer to God during this time, and grow in the knowledge of His Word. May we remember always that God is great, and can do ALL things. May God be glorified in and through our seasons of waiting. In the name of Yeshua HaMaschiach, amen.
Shalom,
Khyra L’amour 💕
